Richard Newlon is a sole practitioner of a general practice of architecture from design through construction. He currently works from Reston, Virginia with draftsmen experienced in CADD design and production. He has been the Chairman of the Reston Design Review Board for the past four years and a member for nine years. His unique approach and problem solving ability have benefited his clients over the years.
The firm engages in the general practice of architecture from design through construction supervision, completing more than six hundred projects with construction value over $100 million. The work includes office and medical buildings, historical renovations, space planning, apartment buildings, restaurants, marinas, museums, new homes and residential additions and renovations.
Richard Newlon A.I.A. Architects has several projects underway at any time with coordination of consulting engineers and contractors, involvement with Building Departments and Historic Preservation Commissions of local jurisdictions in both the planning and permit process. Budget planning for development projects, presentations to Boards and committees, condominium associations and extensive client relationships during all aspects of each project.
Published projects have been featured in Architectural Record, House Beautiful, Better Homes and Gardens, The Washington Post, The Washington Star and Business Week.
